Under his leadership, GEDA made tremendous progress in developing, harnessing and popularizing renewable sources of energy. Setting up of a nodal agency for renewable energy sources in Gujarat was considered as a model by other states in India.

The Institute was set up with the seed money of Rs.5 lacs contributed by Jyoti Ltd. and infrastructure provided by Charutar Vidya Mandal.
